Ambassador of the Year: Portia K. Mafukidze
Portia Kuzivakwashe Mafukidze from Zimbabwe is currently studying towards a Master’s degree in Mathematics at PAUSTI in Kenya, funded by the Pan African Union scholarship. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Operations Research and Statistics from the National University of Science and Technology in Zimbabwe and is the founder of a non-profit organization called Health and Poverty Reduction Services Zimbabwe (HPS Zimbabwe). Second Place: Celestine A. Oliewo
Celestine Atieno Oliewo from Kenya recently completed her Master’s degree in Mathematical Sciences at the African Institute of Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) in Ghana. For her studies she received a MasterCard Foundation scholarship. Read Celestine’s full Ambassador Profile here.
Third Place: Nneoma Confidence Anyanwu
Nneoma Confidence Anyanwu from Nigeria is currently a postdoctoral research associate for research funded by the National Institute of Health at New York Medical College. She was awarded the TWAS-CUI Doctoral Fellowship Award by the World Academy of Science to carry out her PhD research at COMSATS University in Pakistan. Read Confidence’s full Ambassador Profile here.
Fourth Place: Sharon Azubuike-Osu
Sharon Azubuike-Osu from Nigeria holds a PhD in Physiology from the University of Benin in Nigeria. She has been a recipient of two Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) Scholarships, as well as a TETFUND Postdoctoral Scholarship for a Postdoc in Germany. High Achiever Awards
In addition, six Scholarship Ambassadors made it into the Top 10 of this year’s cohort and received High Achiever Awards. Congratulations to the following Ambassadors for their achievements: Mutiat Dosunmu from Nigeria, Cecil Gabriel Tafireyi from Zimbabwe, Ruwarashe Mujokoji from Zimbabwe, Edward Korveh from Ghana, Sharon Munedzi from Zimbabwe, and Christelle Dzesse Tekouo from Cameroon!
