We are proud and honoured to announce that Africademics has won the 2021 WSA-Germany Award in the ‘Learning & Education’ category! Africademics is thus one of eight German start-ups and organizations who have been nominated for the 2021 WSA World Summit Award. The eight national winners were selected from a total of 367 entries, 24 of which were shortlisted. The winners of the global WSA competition with up to 800 entries from 180 countries will be announced in early 2022.

About the World Summit Award
The WSA World Summit Award (https://wsa-global.org/) is awarded annually to start-ups and digital solutions that help to address the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Launched in 2003, this globally acclaimed digital impact award receives up to 800 entries from 180 countries each year. Prizes are awarded in eight categories: Government & Citizen Engagement, Health & Well Being, Learning & Education, Environment & Green Energy, Culture & Tourism, Smart Settlements & Urbanization, Business & Commerce, and Inclusion & Empowerment.
Projects and organizations are nominated by national pre-selection committees who select one project per category for participation in the WSA Global competition. The final winners are then selected in two rounds by an international jury, composed of representatives of each continent. We are proud and honoured that Africademics was chosen as Germany’s national nominee in the ‘Learning & Education’ category and we congratulate our fellow national winners and international nominees.
