Concerned Mothers Movement Sierra Leone

We are excited to announce our partnership with the Concerned Mothers Movement in Sierra Leone!

The Concerned Mothers Movement for Women’s Participation in Development is a movement supporting women’s self-determination, self-actualization and self-sufficiency in Sierra Leone with emphasis on the protection and fulfillment of human rights for women, youth and children. The organization is local non-Governmental organization formed in1998 and registered with the Bo District Council and the Ministry of Development and Economic Development Sierra Leone.

The Mission of Concerned Mothers is to support and empower women and girls who continue to be marginalized in Sierra Leone’s society. The organization aims to facilitate access to secondary school, promote sexual reproductive rights, reduce gender inequality, increase women’s participation in governance, and combat gender-based violence.

Activities and focus areas of Concern Mothers include:

  • Gender and youth advocacy
  • Food security and livelihood support
  • Road safety management
  • Access to education
  • Health, nutrition, water and sanitation
