Application requirements:

  • Fluent in German (minimum B1, i.e. advanced level, participants need to reach B2 before applying for their Ausbildung)
  • Completed high school with a national senior certificate/ matric or higher
  • Citizen or resident of Namibia or another sub-Saharan African country
  • The programme is also suitable for participants who are already based in Germany, e.g. for a volunteer service programme or as an AuPair

About Namibia2Germany

The Namibia2Germany programme offers comprehensive support for German-speaking youth from Namibia and other African countries who want to pursue a 3-year ‘Ausbildung’ (dual vocational training) in Germany. The programme was launched in 2023 and is going into its third round in 2025.

The programme takes place virtually, over the course of 12 months, and consists of four modules:
1. Introduction to the German dual vocational training system
2. Career orientation: Finding the right Ausbildung for you
3. Preparing your German CV, motivation letter and supporting documents
4. Practical and cultural preparation for your Ausbildung in Germany

New in 2025/26: Each module can now also be taken on a stand-alone basis! So if you are not yet sure if an Ausbildung is what you’re looking for, you can simply take the first one or two modules and then decide if you want to go ahead and apply for an Ausbildung.
