Our Namibia2Germany programme was selected to participate in the Challenge2024 matching programme for the second time last year. We are excited to share that we established a new partnership with Rotenburger Werke in Germany as a result of the programme. We will thus be able to offer additional training and work opportunities for nurses and professional caregivers from Namibia!
What is the Challenge2024?
Challenge2024 is a joint project by Social Impact and ING Group and aims to connect social start-ups with Germany-based welfare organizations. By providing targeted and customized coaching and mentoring, and by pairing suitable social start-ups with potential partners in the welfare sector, the initiative provides a space to develop and test joint projects and services.
The programme ran from July to December 2024 and provided support in the form of a virtual workshop series, as well as the matching with suitable partner organizations. Having been selected for the programme has allowed us to expand our Namibia2Germany partner network, and to offer additional vocational training opportunities for German-speaking Namibians who wish to train as a nurse or in a similar profession.
We will start to offer vocational training placements with Rotenburger Werke as part of our Namibia2Germany programme from September 2025 onwards.
