Please tell us a bit about yourself!
I am a citizen of the world and I am ready to help other bring out their full potential. In 10 years’ time, I see myself as a grown scholar that has won grants that enable me to transition from early career researcher through a faculty position to becoming an independent senior researcher.
I also hope that at least 50 of mentees will have gained scholarships, fellowship, grants, awards. I see myself growing in all areas of my life, thanks to the growth mindset acquired in the Africademics Ambassador Programme.
Which scholarships or fellowships have you received?
Over the course of my studies, I have received the following scholarships, grants and awards:
- Award for a short research stay at the University of Munster, Germany, by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) in 2011.
- Award for a long-term research stay at the University of Munster, Germany, by the Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst (DAAD) from 2021 to 2014.
- Invitation for a research stay at the University of Munster, Germany, by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation in 2019.
- Africa One Health University Network (AFROHUN) Cameroon Small Grants Scheme for Research and Training in Cameroon in 2022.
- TechWomen Awards 2023, to join the San Francisco cohort in 2023.
How did you experience the Africademics Scholarship Ambassador Programme?
I joined the Scholarship Ambassador Programme because I was a beneficiary of fellowships that many people in Africa don’t know of. I want to mentor others so as to enable them to take advantage of the available opportunities. Being an Africademics Scholarship Ambassador gives me the opportunity to do so.
Why would you recommend the Scholarship Ambassador Programme to others?
I encourage other students and scholars to join the Ambassador Programme, because it is a rewarding programme which helps you developing your own career whilst helping others do the same.
