Through our long-standing partnership with the Graduate Applications International Network (GAIN) our Africademics Scholarship Ambassadors support the participants of the GAIN programme in finding and applying for scholarships!
About GAIN
The Graduate Applications International Network (GAIN) supports prospective graduate students from African countries in applying for Master’s and PhD studies in economics and related fields such as public policy, political science, etc.). GAIN is led by a motivated team of founders, leaders and mentors, whom you can meet here.
Our partnership with GAIN started in 2022 and our annual scholarship webinars have become a regular feature of the GAIN webinar programme. In addition, our Scholarship Ambassadors offer individual mentoring and support for GAIN participants who are in need of scholarship funding for their Master’s or PhD studies.
The GAIN Mentoring Programme
GAIN offers a support and mentoring programme for selected graduate school applicants from across Africa, starting in March of each year. Part 1 consists of a webinar series, which introduces the different aspects of the application process, including GRE preparation, school selection, recommendation letters, motivational statements and funding.
Successful graduates of the first part can apply to participate in part 2 of the program, which includes one-to-one mentoring by global research professionals throughout the application cycle. Selected students will also receive financial support to cover application expenses, including fees for standardized tests and applications.
Once admitted into a graduate studies program, mentees can join the third part, the GAIN Alumni Network, which offers monthly check-in calls and targeted webinars. With this, GAIN aims to increase the study success and graduation rate of their participants.
Please visit the GAIN website for more information about their programme, and follow them on Twitter/X, Instagram and LinkedIn!
