Please tell us a bit about yourself!
I am a dedicated and passionate individual with a strong commitment to continuous learning and helping others. In my free time, I enjoy reading, learning new things, and engaging in conversations with people.
In 10 years, I envision myself as a seasoned educator and researcher, possibly holding a senior academic position (Professor). I aim to have made significant contributions to my field and completed further education, such as obtaining a higher degree.
In addition to my career aspirations, I want to establish a healthy work-life balance, pursue personal interests, and contribute meaningfully to my community and society.
Which scholarships or fellowships have you received?
I am currently in receipt of a PhD scholarship by the African Water Resources Mobility Network (AWaRMN) and have received scholarships from the TetFund (Master’s studies, 2013-2015) and from the Federal government of Nigeria (Bachelor’s studies, 2009-2011).
How did you experience the Africademics Scholarship Ambassador Programme?
My motivation to become an Africademics Scholarship Ambassador stems from my passion for supporting and empowering students to access educational opportunities. I am dedicated to contributing to the academic growth and success of individuals across the African continent.
My personal highlight of the 2023 Ambassador Programme was the opportunity to connect with a diverse range of scholars and students, and the main insight I gained was the importance of fostering a supportive and collaborative academic community.
As a Scholarship Mentor, I have had a rewarding experience working with my mentee. Through networking and support, my mentee has gained admission to several UK universities and is awaiting the outcome of the scholarships he applied for. Additionally, he has been selected for two different internships, and I have served as his referee during these applications.
Why would you recommend the Scholarship Ambassador Programme to others?
I highly encourage other students and scholars to join the Ambassador Programme! This opportunity provides valuable experiences, networking opportunities, and the chance to make a meaningful impact within the academic community.
