Please tell us a bit about yourself!
I am a confident and open-minded young man with a strong sense of self-belief. My innate curiosity and unwavering commitment drive my actions. In my free time I like mine designing in Surpac and whittle, playing and watching football, and also tackling puzzles.
In 10 years’ time, I envision myself successfully running my own technical firms in the mining industry, operating in both the Malawian and international markets. I aim to leverage the knowledge and expertise gained through practical experience and education from international institutions to achieve this goal.
Additionally, I aspire to maintain a balanced and fulfilling personal life, contributing positively to my community and supporting others in their educational and career journeys.
Which scholarships or fellowships have you received?
I received funding through the Higher Education Students Loans and Grants Board in Malawi.
How did you experience the Africademics Scholarship Ambassador Programme?
I became a Scholarship Ambassador to mentor others, learn, develop teamwork and leadership skills, and gain knowledge on successfully applying for international scholarships as well. My personal highlight from the 2023 Africademics Ambassador Programme was gaining a deeper understanding of the scholarship application process and the opportunity to help others navigate it successfully.
As a Scholarship Mentor, my experience has been rewarding. My mentee is a dedicated and driven individual with a strong desire to pursue a Masters in Electronic Engineering. We have made significant progress in identifying suitable scholarship opportunities and tailoring application materials. He has shown remarkable growth in his scholarship search journey, and I’m confident he will succeed in securing the right scholarship to achieve his academic goals.
Why would you recommend the Scholarship Ambassador Programme to others?
I would highly encourage other students and scholars to join the Scholarship Ambassador Programme! It offers valuable practical experience in the scholarship application process, enhances communication skills with mentees, and provides opportunities to develop various skills, including problem-solving.
