The 2025/26 programme cycle will run for 12 months and consists of four inter-related course modules, delivered via virtual live sessions and additional online content.
After the kick-off meeting in June 2025, our coaching and mentoring programme will explain how the German Ausbildung system works, help you identify your career interests and strengths, select the right Ausbildung programme, connect you with suitable German companies, guide you through the application process, assist you with your visa application, and provide cultural and practical preparation for your move to Germany.
The 2025/26 programme round will be structured as follows:
February 2025: Applications for the Namibia2Germany programme open.
April 2025: Applications close, participants are selected and informed.
May 2025: Successful applicants submit their German language certificate (or obtain it from the Goethe Institute).
July 2025: Virtual kick-off meeting and start of Module 1 of the programme: A comprehensive introduction to the German dual vocational training (‘Ausbildung’) system, including the requirements, benefits, available fields of work, career opportunities and financial aspects.
August 2025: Module 2 is all about career orientation and helping you find the right Ausbildung programme. Even if you already know which profession(s) you are interested in, did you know that there are over 350 different Ausbildung programmes across all industries? Through a series of career and skills tests, as well as individual coaching, we will help you find the right Ausbildung option(s) for you.
September 2025: In Module 3, you will prepare for the process of applying for your Ausbildung with a German company. We will help you draft your German CV and motivation letter, compile your certificates, references and other supporting documents, and assist you in preparing for your application interview.
October 2025: While you are busy preparing your application documents, our German partner companies will introduce themselves in a series of virtual info events. You will have the opportunity to interact with partner companies, learn more about the Ausbildung programmes they offer, and ask any questions you may have.
November 2025 : Once you have prepared your application documents, you can start applying for Ausbildung placements with German companies. They will review your application and successful applicants will be invited to a (virtual) application interview. The application period typically runs for several months, due to the nature of the application process and the fact that you will have to submit a large number of applications.
March 2026 If your application for an Ausbildung was successful, Module 4 will guide you through the practical preparations for your move to Germany. This will include, most importantly, the visa application process, which can take up to 6 months to be completed. In addition, you will receive cultural and practical training in preparation for the start of your Ausbildung and life in Germany.
August 2026: The long wait is finally over and you will start your journey to Germany and settle into your new home.
September 2026: Your Ausbildung starts and you will receive further support from volunteer mentors in Germany during the first months of your Ausbildung.
